Technical Context

Pixels Per Inch (PPI) is a measurement of pixel density (resolution) of an electronic image device, such as a computer monitor or mobile display. It represents the number of pixels that can be displayed within an inch of the diagonal screen length.

Higher PPI values result in sharper images and smoother text, as individual pixels become indistinguishable to the human eye at normal viewing distances. For most smartphones, a PPI above 300 is considered "Retina" class, where the human eye can no longer see individual pixels from a typical holding distance.
